The Harken 57mm T2™ Ratchamatic® Block 2160 combines Harken’s load-sensing Ratchamatic® technology with the lightweight T2™ soft-attach design. It automatically switches between free-running and ratchet modes under load, delivering smooth, efficient trimming and powerful holding performance for mainsheet and spinnaker systems on high-performance sailing craft.

The Harken 57mm T2™ Soft-Attach Ratchamatic® Block 2160 represents one of Harken’s most advanced lightweight control blocks, combining the versatility of the T2™ soft-attach system with the intelligent load-sensing performance of Ratchamatic® technology.

Built with composite fiber-reinforced sideplates and a hardcoat-anodized aluminium sheave, this block achieves an exceptionally low weight while maintaining high strength and durability. The simplified internal mechanism reduces moving parts, improving reliability while keeping weight to just 71 grams.

The T2™ soft-attach system allows the block to be lashed or spliced directly through the load-bearing centre, reducing stress on the sideplates and providing a built-in safety backup. This attachment method also enables precise positioning, allowing sailors to set optimal block height for clean lead angles and efficient trimming.

The Ratchamatic® mechanism automatically engages under load and releases when loads decrease, delivering seamless transition between free-running and ratchet modes. This ensures smooth sheet handling during light-air manoeuvres while providing increased holding power when loads rise. The system is particularly effective for dynamic sail control where conditions change rapidly, such as mark roundings, gybes, and spinnaker handling.

With 10:1 holding power, the 2160 is ideal for mainsheet and spinnaker systems on dinghies, beach cats, skiffs, and sportboats. Unloaded lines run freely, while loaded sheets are held securely, reducing crew fatigue and improving trimming efficiency.

The included Spectra® soft-attach line allows immediate installation and flexible rigging configurations, while directional markings ensure correct orientation for optimal performance.
