I am not one to complain... I know, I know, I am about to!

Tuesday is a big order delivery day for us. Over the weekend many people place orders. We fulfill a lot from stock, and then get supplier deliveries over Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning to fulfill the rest. Consequently we often have two or more trips to the post office on Tuesday to send them all out.

This afternoon I dutifully did the last trip to the PO as I took a certain well known staff member for her walk. I waited in the queue and was called to the counter. The person serving me promptly left the counter to chat to a colleague, forgetting I was there. After a time she dashed back, apologised, and processed my bags of parcels. OK...

Next I called into the cafe for my afternoon coffee. Three young blokes behind the counter, completely ignoring me. A young woman walks in, she gets all the attention in the world. I left, without my coffee...

Because of how busy I had been today I did not have lunch so I thought I needed a sausage roll (healthy!). Popped into the local supermarket who does everything, waited at the counter whilst the two assistants chatted, and chatted. I left, without my sausage roll...

It is not that retail is suffering because people are not buying, it is just hard to get easy, regular good service!

At BoatCrewGear.com we like to give good service. We like to get you the right gear, we like to help and give advice. Last Sunday I missed a call at 0830 from a customer. Sorry... I was halfway through a very nice breakfast! The customer rang back around 1030. Our showroom was not scheduled to be open but I dashed down anyway because the customer needed some knee pads for his young lad. Everyone happy. The lad got his knee pads (and a wetsuit), and I got to get out and get some coffee!

Really, it is not hard.

We like to give good customer service, we like to give customers a choice of brands, we like to get people on the water with the right gear.

I'll just pop my soapbox away...

PS. I went to another cafe, Lemonia, great coffee, great customer service!
