The bestselling Gill Junior Long John Sailing Wetsuit offers kids and youth sailors a combination of cutting edge materials and functional design.
This durable junior wetsuit has been developed for dinghy sailors and provides protection from water, the cold and wear and tear generated through contact with the boat.
The wetsuit is made from 3/2mm neoprene for warmth and impact protection. 2mm Di-Guard Neoprene seat and knees protect against wear, and there are low bulk x4 Flex stretch zones at the side panels, crotch and behind knees.
High density neoprene protects the upper body from the wind and water. On the shoulder areas is a slighter thinner and stretchier Gravel Skin neoprene to allow for freer movement. (Gravel Skin is also more durable than conventional neoprene and will withstand harness abrasion.)
There is a superstretch neck entry for improved fit and comfort and flatlocked construction to reduce chaffing.
- 90% Neoprene, 10% Nylon
THE FABRIC AND STITCHING TECHNOLOGY
Flatlock Stitched - Flatlock stitching lies flat against the skin and prevents chafing. This method of construction results in a very durable finish.
Blind Stitched - Blind stitched wetsuits are glued initially, then sewn with a curved needle, which doesn’t totally pierce the skin of the suit, and thus, the wetsuit remains watertight keeping you warmer and more comfortable in colder water.
TPM - Thermal Protection Material is a high density neoprene that protects the upper torso against the cooling effects of the wind and water. The denser face of the fabric is solid and will reflect wind and water. There are two different types of TPM on the suits. One is the C-mesh which is on the front raised loop back - for comfort and warmth. This is strategically placed on the chest for maximum warmth and reduced wind-chill. On the shoulder areas we have added gravel skin TPM. This is a slighter thinner neoprene than the C-mesh and stretchier for the required movement. Gravel skin is also more durable than conventional Neoprene and so will withstand harness abrasion.
Glideskin - Low-friction glideskin seals offer warmth and comfort against the skin & protection from chaffing.
X4 Flex Technology - Allows complete freedom of movement in vital areas and eliminates the need for uncomfortable underarm seams.
Di-Guard - The high tenacity Di-Guard Neoprene seat panel (and knee on full leg suits) protects against wear generated through contact with the boat. Strategically placed to resist abrasion and prolong the life of your suit.
Slik Grip - Slik Grip durable knee print for optimum traction on any surface in wet and dry conditions. Exclusive to Gill, this print extends down the shin area to offer improved grip and wear protection.
